hello

(to greet someone)

Hi. This is my first post on this blog. You do not know who I am and I will likely never say. A blog is something I have thought about for a while. The way I see the internet going, and society as a whole, it is something that bothers me when I think about it.

I also really wanted somewhere to jot my thoughts down that would be readable to other people. I do not know why but I find it extremely easier to open up to strangers than I do to those I hold close. And not having to give up my identity is also a big plus in my opinion. Like a “transparent privacy”. You can see what is inside but you can not see the container.

That is primarily the main goal for this blog. To write about things and have somewhere to keep them, as well as having them accessible to others. Whether or not an audience formulates around this is not a concern of mine. Writing, and archiving ones thoughts is ,as I was told, a calming and beneficial activity. And I like the idea of it. In this age where everything is becoming more automated and more of the internet is being run by bots, having a small corner of authenticity is something that is appealing.

To give some context about myself, I am a college student. About to graduate. And I think I am at a very interesting point in my life. Attending college is something I did not really appreciate fully until now. The end is in sight and my days are numbered. One day I will sit in a classroom for the very last time, I will turn in an assignment for the very last time, and I will see numerous people for the very last time. To some, graduation is a liberating event, a new exciting part of ones life. And that is true. Last thing I want this to be a depressing blog.

But change can be very hard to accept sometimes. And right now, things are changing fast, very fast. And I just can seem to keep up with it. I am hoping that this blog will help with that in any way that It can.

I do not know how frequently I plan to post here but I am sure I can commit some time to it everynow and then.

And about the name. Luamere is something that was, I do not know how to put it. ‘Lua’ means sun in many languages and ‘mere’ means body of water in old English I believe. There is the place in my mind that I imagined as a calming place. A hill with a chair, over a running river at night. That is where the name originated from and I hope this blog can embody some aspects of that.

That’s all I have time for as of now.

See you again soon.
